For more that seven decades Americans have loved the music of the"
Great American Songbook. These songs by composers such as Cole
Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin and countless others have become
a part of the very fabric of our country and who we are. They have even
traveled beyond our borders and become part of the lives of other
peoples around the world! A large part of this has to do with how they
were originally presented...the Big Band...a uniquely American tradition.

The Big Band is composed of 15 to 19 individual instrumentalists and
one or more vocalists. At the height of their popularity in the 1940s, we
danced to the sounds of Benny Goodman, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey,
Harry James and the legendary Glenn Miller. For Dancers Only was
founded in that tradition... to keep this wonderful art form alive and vital.

We do it because we love this music and the sense of accomplishment
of doing it well. We offer our clients the widest array of these sounds,
including as often as possible the original arrangements from the various
Big Bands. In any performance you are likely to hear foxtrots, rhumbas,
polkas, waltzes, beguines, sambas and more. Our library spans the
favorites from the early 1940s to the big band hits of the 21st century.
We usually have something to please almost every age group.
